Keeping our image library current was a massive part of the job at Monsieur Touton. Anytime we brought a new wine into the portfolio or an existing brand updated their label for a new vintage, those physical bottles went straight into the studio. Having crisp and accurate photography was completely non-negotiable for our print layouts. I got hands-on behind the lens for these shoots, and I also handled all the post-production work by editing and retouching every single photograph myself.
For every session, we essentially ran three different setups. First, we would knock out the standard straight-on front shots. I would clip and silhouette these for the tight grid layouts in our catalogs and monthly flyers. Then we would switch up the lighting and composition to capture stylized beauty shots along with full brand shots showing the entire lineup of wines together. Building up that diverse asset library gave me plenty of dynamic visuals to drop right into our promotional flyers, skyscrapers, and POS displays.
